Nearly three years ago I was gifted magic mushrooms at a festival called Lightning in a Bottle. I didn't know what to expect, but I felt that this was the opportune time for something like this in my life. I had been scared of anything stronger than cannabis for most of my life, but something that grows naturally out of the ground and has been used ceremoniously for hundreds or thousands of years couldn't be that bad, could it? What's so damn magical about a mushroom?
I had actually gone to the festival not knowing anyone (found an opportunity to work at one of the stages assisting with sound). One of the guys on the team gifted me about 3.5 grams of mushrooms. I consumed them all just before sunset. And within an hour I was seeing the most radiant display of ethereal energy smoke rising out of the ground, trees and into the sky. I was awestruck. It felt so cosmic and holy. I continued to feel intense levels of pure ecstasy. While walking around I stopped dead in my tracks with the most intense déjà vu. I instantly felt this radiant golden light of energy bathing me in the most pure love. I felt like "I'm back home before I was even born." It felt like I was beginning to remember my true nature as a spiritual-human being. Could mushrooms really be a source of connecting to the YOUNIVERSE?
Never before have I ever felt so boundless and filled with such immense gratitude for being alive. And never have I ever been as social and filled with FLOW than this first experience with magic mushrooms. I've typically been a pretty shy and insecure person. But somehow these mushrooms gave me the power to strip away these filters holding me back as I easily connected and partied with people throughout the festival. It felt so liberating to connect with others and to reconnect to my true self. I felt so free and primal and filled with an archaic rebirth of my mind. At that point I had experienced the best day of my life (and I have continued to have the best day of my life over and over again thanks to the magic I've experienced from mushrooms).
